Another wonderful book has been added to my completion list. “The Alchemist”- The title and the summary of story line from some reviews
had made me think that it’s going to be a book with some complex philosophy and
all. But still I was willing to learn the concepts and understand them. Yes, my
gut feeling was right but only to some extent. It teaches some most complex
things in the universe but in such a simple way which proves the author as an
extraordinary writer and teacher. It’s exceedingly inspirational and I find it
more spiritual as well.
To realize our dreams and work to get there is not an easy thing.
“The Alchemist” teaches us on keeping the courage and determination till the
destination despite the negative forces we encounter along the way; through the
story of a shepherd boy who travels in search of his dream treasure. It’s a
common universal rule that the things worth having don’t come easy. And another
important lesson there is that the closer we get to the destination the more
our courage will be tested. Keep the courage just one more minute might reveal
you the treasure. Such a worthy lesson it is!
When it comes to spiritual lessons, here only complexity is
handled very well and it’s has been simplified as much as possible, I would
say. Try our best and leave the rest to the Almighty is the only obligation we
have. “The Alchemist” says the guide will appear when it’s most needed during the
walk to the dream destination. There are quite a few more teachings you can
find with regards to it.
Alchemist- A person who knows the art of turning Copper or Lead into gold. The author "Paulo Coelho" himself is one of a very few Alchemists in the world I would say and I know one more powerful alchemist, the Almighty.
In overall, it was a great read. No wonder why it’s one of
the top selling books all the time. I would recommend it to everyone.
